A contemporary home built of hybrid construction featuring insulated concrete forms (ICF) and wood framing. Solar thermal and photovoltaic panels provide most of the energy needs of this home. The roof was designed for the possibility of a green roof installation.
This home is built using a timberframe and panel construction. The timberframe was made locally, and the panels were chosen for their sustainable features; they are made from straw fiberboard and filled with straw infill for insulation. The exterior is reclaimed barnwood siding. The home has both passive and active solar features, including photovoltaic and solar thermal panels.
